Understanding the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (also called the NDIS) is the new way of providing support to Australians with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS is run by the National Disability Insurance Agency, also known as the NDIA.

NDIS Practice Standards

Personalised Disability Care implements and adheres to the NDIS Care Practice Standards to provide all participants with high-quality care and support. We will maintain certification against these Standards every 3 years. Maintenance audits are undertaken on a 12-18-month basis based on the services provided.

NDIS Code of Conduct

The purpose of the NDIS Care Code of Conduct is to ensure that participants' health, safety and well-being are safeguarded, thus allowing Personalised Disability Care to provide quality support to all who require their service. 


Personalised Disability Care will enforce the necessary measures and strategies to ensure the Codes of Conduct are thoroughly implemented within its procedures. All workers of Personalised Disability Care are expected to follow and adhere to these procedures, thus achieving the best possible quality of care for their participants.

  1. Act with respect for individual rights to freedom of expression, self- determination and decision-making following applicable laws and conventions.
  2. Respect the privacy of people with disability. 
  3. Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner, with care and skill. 
  4. Act with integrity, honesty and transparency, including inviting feedback
  5. Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that may impact the quality and safety of supports and services provided to people with disability. 
  6. Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence against, and exploitation, neglect and abuse of, people with disability. 
  7. Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct.

NDIS Worker Orientation Module

The NDIS Care Worker Orientation Module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ assists all Personalised Disability Care's workers to better support people with disability. All workers (including business CEO/Directors) of Personalised Disability Care are required to complete the worker orientation module requested by the NDIS Commission.
